This page shows a few of the things I get asked to do that don't fit into any of the other categories - more coming soon.

"Fat Cat" float for student campaign group "People and Planet"

Involvment in this project consisted of designing and building a 12volt sound system powered by a pedal generator. It supplied power to a 300watt amp and PA speakers for parade music and a PA system for a rally in Trafalgar Square.

Fireplaces for The Big Green Gathering

In order to cut down on firewood bills, as well as minimising damage to the grass, BGG decided to have large communal fireplaces around the site, to encourage people to use communal fires instead of individual fires for small groups. These are maintained by site crew. The brief was to build fireplaces of available materials that are large enough for a group of people to gather round and heavy enough to not get picked up and removed by persons unknown...

So, with a truck full of 2" angle and 2mm steel plate, and a couple of days in the workshop, these were created, and received a good response from the attendees at the festival as well as the management.

The larger ones are 8'x4', the smaller are 4' square. More elaborate versions can be made, depending on available budget and supply of materials. Being made for the Big Green Gathering and on a tight budget, the brief was to use available materials, so the steel for these was sourced from farmyard scrap rather than use new materials. (NB the only pictures I was able to obtain were at the end of the event).

Home Cinema

The brief - a small, basic 5.1 surround sound home cinema system for boys room. The solution - a Dell DLP Projector, Goodmans all in one DVD & Amp with 5.1 surround sound and a retractable screen.
The result - small comfy cinema space with an added link from a pc for internet streaming and gaming.

Images of the completed cinema will be posted soon - as soon as I can get the kids out - they love it!
